This year, in response to demand, we are holding our first ever ‘Mini Camp’ for children who would like to try camp but are worried about being away for a whole week. The weekend will be held at The Pioneer Centre in Shropshire from Friday 17th October with the arrival of the children between 3pm & 5pm. The weekend concludes on Sunday 19th October when parents are invited to join the children for lunch at mid day and watch the children’s talent show before leaving for home in the afternoon.

During the weekend children will take part in activities such as climbing and abseiling, archery, evening camp fire, disco, talent show, drama and arts & crafts.

The weekend is free of charge and includes all activities, accommodation and food. Children simply need to bring their usual outdoor clothes and shoes (and of course their party wear for the Saturday night disco!)

The weekend is for children and young people aged 8 - 16 affected by a serious or life limiting illness. The children are supported by adult volunteers and a medical team.

If the children enjoy the weekend (and the parents feel confident in our abilities!) they are encouraged to apply for our week long camps in 2009. We also do separate camps for their Brothers and Sisters.
