Having had a day exploring the ancient Inca capital of Cusco and then journeying to the majestic Machu Piccu ruins ,we picked up our mountain bikes in Ollantaytambo to start our 350 km bike ride.
Over the next 5 days we cycled from the Sacred valley of the Incas through Pisac and into the Andes Mountains. We had a day of climbing up to Tres Cruces, the last pass before the Andes begins its descent into the Amazon rainforest.
Having camped at one of the most spectacular camp sites at 4200m overlooking the rainforest we spent the next day descending into the jungle, one of the most amazing experiences of my life!
Apart from coming off my bike on the first day and getting 3 stitches in my chin, this trip was an incredible experience. I made a lot of good friends and got to see some beautiful country as well getting to meet some of the friendly Peruvian people. I was proud to wear the OTW tee shirt and glad to have raised some funds for the charity.
Hope you enjoy the pictures!
