Regional Coordinator- Volunteering (Midlands)

Would you like to make a difference? An exciting opportunity has become available within a growing children’s charity.

The Charity: Over The Wall offers free Therapeutic Recreation camps to children with serious health challenges and their families all over the UK. As part of the international SeriousFun Network we provide life-changing opportunities for children to learn to challenge themselves and move past the perceived limits of their conditions.

Position: Regional Coordinator- Volunteering
Location: Home based (The post holder must be located in the Midlands Region).
Contract type: Fixed term until 31st July 2018, Part-time
Hours: 21 hours per week (to be negotiated)
Salary: £10,800 pro-rata (£18,000 WTE)

The Position: As part of our aim to deliver our biggest year of camps ever, we’re looking for a Regional Coordinator to cover the Midlands area with a focus on recruiting volunteers. The post is for three days a week. This will be a fixed term contract until 31st July 2018 and is home-based, with a requirement to travel.

We offer the opportunity to be in charge of your own schedule while working within a highly skilled team to recruit and support volunteers. You will need to identify key partners in the Midlands region, develop and maintain relationships with them. You will also need to seek out and attend networking and development opportunities.  For many volunteers you may be the first point of contact for the charity, and you will need to identify who we are with professionalism and accuracy.  Whilst there is an administration element to this role that you can do from home, there is also an expectation you will visit universities and other key locations frequently, as well as attend regular team meetings at our head office in Havant, Hampshire.  You may also be requested to attend Camp in a support role which will also form a rewarding part of what you do.

We are looking for someone with experience of working in a goal-oriented environment and with excellent communication skills, ideally with some understanding of volunteering. Experience of scrupulous record keeping is also essential, and knowledge of potential sources of volunteers within this region would be an advantage. IT literacy and a full clean driving license and car are also requirements. Post is subject to full police and background checks.
