Become a camp Doctor or Nurse

We cannot run our unique camps without the dedication and commitment that our medical volunteers give in abundance. Volunteering at an Over The Wall camp is great fun and hard work. The rewards at the end of the week can be immense. Seeing the difference in the campers after just one week can be amazing and tremendously satisfying. Time spent at camp makes a difference to the volunteers, too! You will learn a lot about yourself, meet like-minded people and make new friends!

It is the Volunteer Medical Team at camp who directly care for our Campers.

Criteria For Camp Doctor

• Holds a recognised current British registration(GMC number).
• Currently practising as a Registrar or above.
• Has indemnity Insurance.
• Understanding of physical, social and psychological needs of children diagnosed with a serious illness.
• Willing to prescribe medication, regular and PRN.
• Willing to encourage children to reach their potential and help build their self esteem and self confidence.
• Have FUN !!

Criteria For Camp Nurse

• Holds an United Kingdom NMC (nursing and midwifery Council) registration card.
• Currently practising at Grade 6 or at least 2 years experience with children/ young people.
• Understanding of physical, social and psychological needs of children diagnosed with a serious illness.
• Is a member of a recognised union (RCN or Unison)
• Willing to encourage children to reach their potential and help build their self esteem and self confidence.
• Have FUN !!
