Applications for this camp are now closed

Scotland Health Challenge & Siblings Residential Camp

Over The Wall’s free residential Health Challenge camps are designed to bring about transformational change to tackle these issues. We invite applications from children aged 8 to 17 years, living in the UK, who are currently receiving treatment or experiencing health challenges.

Over The Wall, sibling camps have been developed for children and teenagers (aged 8-17) who have a brother or sister (of any age) who is currently receiving treatment or experiencing health challenges. Siblings can feel particularly isolated or side-lined and our transformative camps, which place them at the centre of the action, helps redress the balance.

Coping with an illness in the family can often lead to siblings having to adopt a caregiving role and therefore, many miss out on critical areas of childhood development, such as socialising and developing relationships with other children.

For children living with serious health challenges, life is often impacted by missed opportunities to participate in the everyday activities enjoyed by their friends and peers. This can result in isolation, poor self-esteem and low confidence – all of which can become a barrier to future growth and development. Over The Wall’s free Health Challenge camps are designed to bring about transformational change to tackle these issues.

We aim for every camper to be empowered with a new sense of ambition, self-confidence and a better understanding of their abilities.

Our camps are 100% fun and 100% free, for everyone, all of the time.

At Over The Wall, our camps specifically for siblings of children with health challenges, allows them to meet new friends, accomplish new challenges and above all, have fun.

Our Siblings camps take place in a medically safe environment – our team of volunteers which includes doctors, paramedics and nurses mean that families are suitably supported with medical assistance on hand if required.

To help you get to camp we have transport support options from Glasgow and Edinburgh. Please note that not all transport is guaranteed but we will do our very best to support your journey.

Camp is one of the happiest places I have ever been, I have met some of the best people through Over The Wall and I have experienced some of the best days of my life. For years I felt shoved aside for my brother’s needs, I felt isolated, left out. But when I came to camp, it was like I finally had people there for me.” – Rhianna, Sibling’s Camper
