Become an essential part of our story, while sharing yours
To raise awareness of its free camps for children and families living with serious illness, Over The Wall needs to engage with the media in a variety of ways, from news and magazine articles to short filmed segments and radio interviews.
We would like to encourage campers and parents to register their interest in volunteering as an Over The Wall Media Champion, roles that have been created to empower the Over The Wall community and make other families, potential donors and supporters aware of our camp opportunities.
Use your experience of camp to help others discover the magic of camp.
Over The Wall produces case studies for its funders to showcase the impact of camp and is occasionally approached by media outlets, locally and nationally. If your story is suitable, we will be in touch to discuss how best to tell your story. We’ll support you throughout the interview process to ensure you’re comfortable and prepared.
Stories can be shared with the media for a variety of reasons:
- Raising awareness – helping others discover our camps and reaching more families and children that could benefit from attending them.
- Support and motivation – showing others in the Over The Wall community that someone else is going through the same, or similar, struggles and offering advice and tips.
- Fundraising – letting our donors know how much of a difference their donations make.
- Encourage more volunteers – every year we need more than 700 volunteers to help campers have an incredible camp experience.
