Medical Provision
Medical care at camp is provided by our ‘Beach Patrol’; a skilled team of volunteer nurses, doctors and paramedics under the direction of our Director of Services.
The team reviews every child’s application to make sure we can meet their needs at camp.
They may contact a child’s doctor if they need more information.
Beach Patrol will be responsible for providing “home from home care”, which includes giving medications, NG/PEG feeds, carbohydrate counting, bladder/bowel care and other necessary care for your child at camp. Overnight there will be a nurse/doctor on call for emergencies. If your child is unwell, we may need to take them to hospital for treatment. We also have a Clinical Advisory Board, made up of medical and nursing experts, who provide advice in relation to clinical issues.
