Over The Wall will do everything that is reasonably practicable to minimise the transmission of infectious diseases including COVID-19, recognising that we cannot completely eliminate the risk. Therefore, it is your responsibility and decision to send your child/ren to camp, following medical advice provided from your child’s Healthcare Professional.

What is your vaccination policy?
We require ALL adults attending residential camp to be fully vaccinated including boosters, in line with current government guidance. This extends to all members of the OTW Staff Team, volunteers, visitors and all adult family members who attending a residential family camp. If you are not COVID vaccinated, then unfortunately you will not be able to attend Residential Camp. If you are medically exempt, please get in touch campers@otw.org.uk or telephone 02392 477110 to discuss this further. However, you can still experience the magic of camp and attend our Virtual Camp in the Cloud programme.
Currently, we do not require anyone under the 18 years old to be vaccinated.
What is Over The Wall doing to reduce transmission of COVID?
Over The Wall will follow all current government guidance. We will ensure that:
- Everyone washes their hands or uses alcohol gel before and after each activity, as well as our normal practice of washing hands before and after each meal time.
- Each colour team (orange, purple, green, blue), will have their own resources and will not share activity equipment. If this is not possible, all equipment will be cleaned thoroughly between each use
- We will ensure all activities take place in a well ventilated location and outside if possible
- Volunteers will get additional training on infection prevention measures
- Each Residential camp will have an isolation room if anyone exhibits symptoms
Will you cancel Residential camps?
Safety for our campers and volunteers and paramount and therefore, if we need to cancel camps to maintain safety standards then we will. However, we will do everything in our power not to do this. The COVID situation will be reviewed at regular intervals prior to camp and we will keep you updated if any changes are made.
Do I have to do a COVID test before coming to Camp?
We recommend that you take a lateral flow test prior to attending camp, this is to ensure that we can keep camp an infection free and safe for all campers. However, this is not mandatory. If you have any symptoms of any respiratory illness, including covid-19, we ask that you do not attend camp and inform us as soon as possible.
What if my healthcare professional does not want my child to go to camp, but I do?
For Health Challenge camps, we will ask your Health Care Professional if they are happy for your child to attend camp. If they do not agree to this, then unfortunately we cannot accept your child to camp. We do not want to put any child at risk or go against current medical advice. We can however offer an alternative to our residential camps to experience the camp magic, we have our amazing virtual Camp in the Cloud programme available.
