Over The Wall Camp’s free residential experiences are so much more than just a holiday.
Campers have transformational experiences when they join us for either three or five days. You can step into the camp bubble, where our meaningful activity programme has been designed to be inclusive and help every camper succeed.
Whether you make new friends, take on the climbing wall, or find a new talent, you should leave camp feeling proud. Over The Wall Camp is where many children and young people with health challenges grow their confidence, form lifelong bonds, and feel more independent than ever before.
To make camp possible for you, our Clinical Team of Nurses, Doctors, and Paramedics are there at all times. This means they can provide routine care and respond to emergencies. Camp is a safe and supportive environment for you to step outside your comfort zone. Camps are held in Derbyshire and Perthshire, all with bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, so you’ll have a comfortable place to rest and won’t have to pitch a tent!
To create the best possible experience for our campers, some camps will be split into age groups, so there will be dedicated camps for:
– Children aged 8–12 years
– Young people aged 13–17 years
– Young people agesd 15 – 17 years
Types of Residential Camps
Health Challenge Camps
Four nights, for a child or young person with a health condition (aged 8-17). Campers can enjoy a variety of different activities such as archery, climbing, STEM, arts & crafts and games whilst in their age-appropriate teams.
Siblings Camps
Four nights, for a sibling (aged 8-17 years) of a child with a health challenge (aged 0-17 years). Campers can enjoy a variety of different activities such as archery, climbing, STEM, arts & crafts and games whilst in their age-appropriate teams.
Family Camps
Two nights, for the whole family unit of a child with a health challenge (one child in the household must be aged 8-17). There will be a mixture of high and low intensity activities for all members of the family to enjoy. This is a great opportunity to spend quality time together whilst connecting with other families.
Teen Camps
New for 2027 our Teen Health Challenge Camp is for children and young people aged 15-17 with a health challenge. This four-night residential activity camp is designed specifically for young people, allowing them to meet new friends, accomplish new challenges and, above all, have fun!
Illness-specific Camps
Our illness-specific camps create powerful experiences for children, young people, and their families navigating similar health challenges. These camps are more than just a break – they’re a safe space for connection, understanding, and shared strength. It’s a place where common journeys spark joy, friendships blossom, and the spirit of unity and togetherness thrives!

Important information on Family Camps at Ockbrook
We are opening applications for Family Camps at Ockbrook as a single block (September–October).
Once applications have been assessed, we’ll be in touch to confirm details.
At that stage, we’ll know:
– Which partnership camps we will be running
– Which illness groups will be served
– The confirmed dates for our generic Over The Wall camps
We will then discuss with you which camps you meet the criteria for.

Camper transport will be offered from Manchester and London to Health Challenge and Siblings Camps taking place at Ockbrook. Campers who live elsewhere and need support with travel to these camps can email us at campers@otw.org.uk.
Scotland Camp Health Challenge and Sibling CampsCamper transport will be offered from Edinburgh to our Scotland Health Challenge and Siblings Camp. Campers who live elsewhere and need support with travel to these camps can email us at campers@otw.org.uk.
Please NoteWe reserve the right to cancel transport hubs if the minimum number of campers requesting it are not reached.
Family CampIf you are getting public transport to camp we will arrange for you to be collected from local services if requested on your application form, and we will contact you to discuss this further.
