‘Tee-rific’ Golf Day raises over £13,000

Twenty teams of local businesses, suppliers and charity supporters came together for a tee-rific day of golf, networking and generosity at the recent Over The Wall Camp Golf Day.

The annual event raised more than £13,000 to support our work providing residential camps filled with joy, confidence and carefree childhood moments for children and young people living with serious health challenges, as well as their families.

Vital fundraising

Players swapped their day jobs for the fairways, taking part in a shotgun-start, 18-hole round of golf on the championship course at Breadsall Priory Golf and Country Club.

The money raised could fund eight children to attend one of Over The Wall Camps’ life-changing residential camps and rediscover the magic and mischief of childhood, help raise their self-confidence and learn resilience, make new friends, and create lifelong memories.

“We are proud to support the charity and help raise vital funds for its work with children and young people living with health challenges and disabilities. The event was exceptionally well organised, offering participants an enjoyable day on a challenging course. It also provided a valuable opportunity to connect with businesses while supporting an important cause. We are already looking forward to taking part again next year.”

A truly worthy cause

Professor John Read, CEO and Founder, Bentley Bitumen and BituCore, urged other businesses to get involved with the children’s charity:

“At Bentley Bitumen, we were absolutely delighted to support Over The Wall Camp’s regional golf day; a thoroughly enjoyable event that gave us the fantastic opportunity to network with other regional companies.

“We loved hearing directly from the charity about their ambitious plans for a new home in Derbyshire. It is a truly worthy cause and as a business, we look forward to supporting the event again next time around. I strongly urge other businesses to consider taking part or sponsoring the next Over The Wall Camp event as well.”
