Volunteering in the Community
Get Ready to Create Some Mischief and Magic!
We are Over The Wall Camp, a Uk based children’s charity. We offer free and fun activity camps for children and young people living with health challenges. These camps provide opportunities for deserving young people and their families to discover a world of mischief, magic and new possibilities. There are two ways for our campers to experience this; at residential camps and through our online programme, Camp in the Cloud. And what’s more, it’s all free!
Thank you so much for checking out our volunteering page. Our volunteers support us in helping to create the best possible experience for our campers at our residential and online camps. As a volunteer, you can learn new skills, meet new people and make a difference to the lives of children and young people in a unique and magical environment.
Upcoming Volunteering Opportunities
The Derby Santa Run Volunteers
Sunday 30 November, Markeaton Park, Derby
Ho, ho, ho! We are on the hunt for Santa’s little helpers, local to Derby! We are delighted to be one of the charity partners for The Derby Santa Run, taking place on Sunday 30 November at Markeaton Park, Derby.
We are looking for volunteers to set up and manage the Over The Wall Camp charity stall in the event village on the day. You will be provided with all the resources needed to run the stall. We need you to represent the charity, hand out leaflets, and help spread the word of the mischief and magic of our camps!
Set up at 8am. Registration open from 9am. The run starts 11am. You should be free to leave early afternoon.
Rather take part? The event is open to adults, children and well-behaved dogs, so grab your friends, family, neighbours, colleagues and four-legged friends for a fabulous, fun and festive day.
You can choose from a number of worthy causes, but we would love supporters to join Team OTWC! The route is 5k – or you can do one lap of 2.5k – and you can walk, hop, run, or wheel your way around (the route is pushchair and wheelchair friendly).
Heritage Collections Volunteers (Ockbrook)
We’re seeking volunteers to help record and preserve the history of Ockbrook School and Over The Wall Camp as we begin to transform the former school into our forever home.
You’ll be working alongside our Heritage Officer on a project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. You’ll capture stories, catalogue and preserve records, record oral histories, and help create a heritage exhibition that will become a permanent feature at Ockbrook.
This is a great chance to learn new skills, meet new people, and help preserve the history of a unique heritage site.
