Radio 4 Appeal
The Radio 4 Appeal is a weekly 3-minute programme highlighting the work of a charity and appealing for donations to support its activities. The appeal aims to provide an opportunity for raising money and awareness for a variety of charities.
Dr Ranj Singh, presenter, writer, and paediatrician presented the BBC Radio 4 Appeal in support of Over The Wall.

Over The Wall Children's Charity
Children living with serious health conditions often miss out on school, parties, trips, and making childhood memories. Long periods in hospital or being isolated at home also means it is harder to build friendships, which can lead to low confidence and, in many cases, anxiety and depression. Over The Wall offers safe camps for children with serious illnesses or disabilities and their families. These amazing places are in-person – at residential camps and also available online – with Camp in the Cloud and Camp 365. And what’s more, it’s all free! But we can’t do it without the support of people like you.
Our groundbreaking virtual Camp in the Cloud offers an escape for children like Reggie, who has spent two years isolating to protect his health. Reggie joined Camp in the Cloud from the safety of his home, making friends with other children experiencing serious illness who felt lonely and left-out – just like him.
Camp in the Cloud
Camp in the Cloud is our innovative, inclusive and engaging virtual programme, where campers and families can experience the magic of an Over The Wall camp from the comfort of their homes. Campers are sent everything they need to participate and are given exclusive access to our bespoke platform, where they can engage with a mixture of activities. There are opportunities for campers and families to interact with others through secure message boards and fun video calls.
A donation of £50 could pay for a child like Reggie to attend Camp in The Cloud, where they can make friends and discover new hope for the future, even if they can’t attend a camp in person.
If you give today, a generous long-term supporter of the charity will match your donations up to £25,000, meaning your gift will go twice as far.
You can give online or call 0800 404 8144. You can also write a cheque to Over The Wall and send it to Freepost BBC Radio 4 Appeal, and mark the back of your envelope Over The Wall. Thank you for your support.
